Quick Hits are short posts that peek into my life – what I’m wearing (and where I’m going), what I’m cooking and eating, and the things I can’t get enough of right now.
HILLSTONE
If I ever were to create an all-time Hit List, Hillstone would make the list.
It is, hands down, my favorite restaurant.
The menu isn’t exciting, but it’s excellent. The service is always good. And it’s consistent – no matter which Hillstone (or sister restaurant) you go to, it’s always fantastic.
Yesterday was a rainy, back-to-back meetings kind of day. It was also a day that deposited me in the purgatory of Midtown East after finishing a meeting and waiting for an event uptown.
I promptly beelined for Hillstone, where I feasted on the famed spinach dip and spicy tuna roll (Osaka style, always). I sipped a glass of pinot noir.
I relaxed.
It was a #singlegirldinner at its finest.
If you find yourself here wondering what to order, here are some of my favorite items on the menu:
- Extra dirty martini with Ketel One
- Flowers pinot noir (only available by the glass @ Park Avenue South)
- Schamsberg sparking wine
- Spinach dip
- Smoked salmon appetizer
- Spicy tuna roll, Osaka style
- Yellowtail sashimi salad
- Veggie burger
- Fish sandwich
- Baked potato (with all toppings on, plus extra set on the side with honey mustard. Big thanks to Katherine for the mustard tip!)
- Brownie sundae
Or, you know, a mix of all of these things.
It’s no surprise that I have a standing dinner reservation here every week.
