I can’t believe this book never made my Hit List series. I read it over 3 years ago, but had to re-download it to my Kindle after watching the pilot of The Crown. Written by Lady Pamela Hicks (neé Mountbatten), she was the daughter of Louis Mountbatten and first cousin to Prince Philip.
You know the man who bragged of the House of Mountbatten beginning? That’s him.
This book recounts Pamela’s childhood, her witnessing the independence of India firsthand, the ascension of Elizabeth to the throne. It is addictive, salacious, and true – from her perspective.
If you can’t get enough of The Crown, get this book. Immediately.
Quick Hits are short posts that peek into my life – what I’m wearing (and where I’m going), what I’m cooking and eating, and the things I can’t get enough of right now.
