’tis the season…to freak the f*#k out.
Preparing a massive meal. Greeting a motley crew of people you share common interests and DNA with. Doing it with a smile on your face. Just the thought of it makes me thrilled that my mother is hosting Thanksgiving.
Even though she’s providing the food and the location, I’m bringing a few items to help make hosting the event a little easier.
I love a cheese plate – eating it, making it…eating it. This cheese slicer makes slicing hard cheese a breeze. And dare I say fun? It also makes a great gift for someone who loves to throw a party. I own these tea glasses in various colors and use them daily – for water or a small cocktail, mini-vases for monochromatic floral arrangements, holders for small candles. The possibilities are endless, as are the colors. A set of these glasses with cocktail napkins is an excellent present for the mixologist in your life. I’m not one to bust out the iron to press my cocktail or dinner napkins or placemats, which makes MYdrap such a lifesaver. They’re 100% cotton, arrive wrinkle-free, and can be washed and reused up to six times. My vintage chemistry glassware is constantly filled with fresh flowers or seasonal arrangements for two reasons. First – I’m a nerd. Second – they make creating unique arrangements stupidly simple. A handful of these graduated cylinders creates a beautiful look with little effort. For me, a new jigsaw puzzle are synonymous with the holidays. They also make for an excellent ice-breaker for guests to bond over while you’re putting the finishing touches on a meal. It also gives the guests who aren’t into the Thanksgiving football game something to do.
If only cleaning up was this easy.
