Happy Thanksgiving!
It’s a familiar day – all of us gathered at my cousin’s house outside of Philadelphia.
The wine is freely pouring, and I’m frying up risotto balls and wearing my usual outfit.
It’s nice.
It also feels sad in an unfamiliar way. It’s our first Thanksgiving without Neela, and thinking of her also reminds me of my miscarriage.
It’s not so nice.
I let myself feel sad when I need to, and feel grateful when I can. Despite these two big losses, I have so much to be grateful for.
I’m grateful for my health, and my family’s health. Knocking on wood that it stays that way.
I’m grateful to be working with my father again, and having a much clearer (and more realistic) picture of how I want to transform the pharmaceutical industry.
I’m grateful for my home and my family life. I feel so lucky that I get to live here, to own a home, and for the many memories we’ll make here. It’s my favorite place in the world.
I’m grateful to Naleeni and Sandra (my nanny and housekeeper, respectively). I often get asked ‘how do you do it all?’ They are the answer – I could not do what I do without them.
I’m grateful for my friends who have stuck by me. I’ve been a poor friend this year, if I’m being honest. I haven’t reached out as much as I should and largely been reactive, not proactive. If I have a single resolution for next year, it’s to be a better friend.
I’m grateful to be traveling more frequently again. Whether it’s a quick getaway or a long vacation, I come back brimming with inspiration for this site.
I’m grateful for you. Without you, there would be no blog, no book, nowhere for me to share my experiences in creating my best life. The fact that you keep coming back here, day after day, to read my experiences in creating my best life is not lost on me. There is an overwhelming amount of content on the Internet, and I wonder if I’m just adding to the noise instead of offering purposeful content. I hope it’s the latter. I have big plans for this website, one being to share more of your stories.

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving, and I’ll be back tomorrow with a book review and the handful of items I’ll be purchasing from the sales.
