I failed miserably at my last goal (to learn Hindi) – pretty pathetically, in fact.  The Rosetta Stone software is still sitting in the box, and I probably have forgotten one of the five words I know in the language.
But onwards and upwards. Â Instead, I’ve refocused on a new commitment, and one I share with my husband – to learn how to golf.
I know I look like a legit golfer in this picture…
…but trust me. Â I probably missed that ball when I swung at least three times before making contact.
So yes, I’m pathetic at this game. Â And being a woman in a male-dominated industry, where deals are made on the golf course, yadda yadda…you see where I’m going.
Thus, my new commitment is to learn how to golf.  My call to action is as follows:
Sign up for lessons – done. Â We dropped some serious coin on private lessons at Chelsea Piers after wrapping up our driving range session on Sunday. Â First lesson is next Monday.
Practice, practice, practice. Â I’m thrilled my husband will be working out of New York again starting next week, meaning we can hit up Chelsea Piers weekly to hit up the driving range and putting green.
Practice…for real.  Like, a proper game on an actual course.  We’re bringing up the car (and golf clubs!) to the city, and plan to start visiting courses in New Jersey and Long Island for proper games.  While the thought of dinging up a course gives me pause, the opportunity to shop for a new golf wardrobe does get me excited.
So there we go. Â My new commitment. Â Here’s hoping this goes better than my Hindi-learning one…
