Viva Las Vegas!

I love the Vegas.

I’m headed to Las Vegas today to celebrate the bachlorette party of one of my best friends.  And I couldn’t be happier because:

1) I haven’t seen her in a year and a half.  Much too long.
2) I need some sort of vacation desperately.  This will do.
3)  There is no better place to be swept up in March Madness than the Vegas.
4) I FINALLY get to see my cousin’s new house, and spend some q-time with her and her hubby.

All in all, this Vegas trip is just what the doctor ordered.

The bachlorette party agenda is pretty standard: cheeseballery on Friday night with dinner at Margaritaville and  tickets to the Thunder Down Under.  Saturday is vegging by the pool (though I will be off hanging with the family for a bit) and hitting the buffets.  Saturday night is sushi (at Koi), clubbing (at Tao and Lavo), and hitting the diner (where I will do my level best for get Mel to drunkenly eat bacon like she used to back in college).  I’m jetting back Sunday morning to unpack, do laundry, and prepare for the 5-hour Amherst drive on Monday, whereas the girls will further indulge in sun-bathing and buffet-eating.

I’ve done Vegas many times; for bachlorette parties, work conferences, and weekend getaways.  We’re staying at the Flamingo (a first for me), but I love the Venetian and the Bellagio–perhaps it has something to do with my love for Italy?  I’m thrilled to be hitting up Tao (amazing club) and checking out Lavo for the first time, but have had great times at Pure, The Mixx, and Tryst.  After weeks of home-cooked Indian food, sushi sounds like perfection (Koi will be a first for me, but I’ve enjoyed SushiSamba and Social House on previous trips).  The Bellagio is hands down the best pool I’ve been to, but with my natural Indian brown skin, I’ve never felt the need to go lay out by the pool–I’d rather play the penny slots (seriously, I know I’m a grandma in disguise) or play a little blackjack.  If I get lucky, I cash out.  And then shop.  Usually at the Forum Shops at Caesar’s Palace.
