December, man. For a 31 day month, it feels awfully short.
This week? No exception.
Our weekends recently have been jam-packed with events, visits with family and friends, and attempts at date nights. While it’s been fun, it is tiring. Particularly when you’re lugging around a bowling ball inside of you. Hi kid!Â
This week is our last tightly-scheduled one of the year. Instead of fighting it, I’m embracing the insanity.
This week kicked off with hitting up the Sail to Sable event with Julia, infant care and CPR classes at our hospital, pitching our startup at an entrepreneurship event (!!!!), and squeezing in my last few meetings of the year. We’re also enjoying as many dinners with friends before polar vortexes and my third trimester begin – which is any minute now.
The light at the end of the tunnel? New holiday pajamas, baking up some sugar and gingerbread cookies for Christmas Eve, and a geeky movie marathon of The Hobbit & Lord Of The Rings.
Merry merry, everyone!
- You will be ugly laughing when you read the 2014 hater’s guide to the Williams-Sonoma catalog. Grab your tissues before clicking the link.
- Because my Netflix queue isn’t long enough, I just added Black Mirror to it.
- PREACH. Losing my United IK status next year hurt more than I’ll admit, and I’m comforted to know I’m not alone.
- Can coloring books reduce stress? Jury’s out, but I purchased this one seconds after seeing it on Jo’s gift guide.
- What you learn in your 40s. Lots of solid life advice for any age.
- Victoria’s posts are always thoughtful and beautifully written, but she really hit it out of the park last week. Her thoughts on Instagram were poignant and raw, as are the comments from her readers. I’ve also bookmarked cocktails at Bemelmans Bar as a first post-baby date night.
Have a great rest of your week!
