Coffee, that is.
You thought I meant blogging? Â While I have been slacking on the updates, there are no plans to end these musings. Â Sorry to disappoint any haters out there.
Anyway, back to the point. Â About a month ago, I had just recovered from a double whammy allergies + sinus infection that had knocked me out cold for a weekend. Â Before my father and I hit the road, I drank a much-needed cup of Indian milky coffee.
And then I felt like I was going to hurl for the first three hours of the drive. Â A pit stop at PF Chang’s for brown rice, club soda, Buddha’s Feast, and many cups of green tea had me feeling back to normal. Â Thank God.
The next morning, I ventured to the Starbucks next door for a skim latte. Â I subsequently felt icky for the remainder of the morning.
And that was it. Â Bye bye coffe. Â Adios, java. Â See ya, cappuccino.
And ‘ello, tea!
I’ve done the quit-resume-quit-resume coffee drinking many times in the past, but this time it’s permanent. Â I’ve switched up my morning coffee for a steaming cup of PG Tips with lemon and sugar. Â I sip green tea when I need an afternoon pick-me-up, and flavored herbals throughout the day. Â Switching to tea permanently has me feeling inexplicably better. Â I have no more stomachaches, experience less grogginess in the morning, and seemingly have maintained my ideal weight while indulging in my Taco Bell obsession.
Anyone else give up coffee and lived to tell the tale? Â Any bets on how soon I’ll fall off the coffee-free wagon?
