Well, that was unintended. That blog hiatus, that is. I’m beating a dead horse with this stick, but life truly busier than usual.
Moving. Traveling. World dominating.
And things are finally kind of calmed down, so we’re back with our regularly scheduled programming. And with that, a quick life update.
#homesweethitha
We moved! We’re still in the city, but just in a bigger (and permanent!) home. While we’re still waiting on new furniture and some work is ongoing, we’re fully unpacked and enjoying the new home, neighborhood, and finally feeling like we have space.
Even if it means we’re stuck watching Game Of Thrones on our iPads for the next month. Or forced to don eyemasks until the window treatments get installed.
On the bright side, there’s my kitchen. And closet. Both rooms make me inexplicably happy, and feeling so damn lucky.
If you’d like some more sneak peeks of our home, follow #palesimhanpad on Instagram and/or me on Snapchat.
Or both. Because I’d love that.

who run the world? girls.
I had the incredible honor of attending the United State of Women Summit in DC last week. Hosted by the White House, it was basically a day filled with inspiration. The highlight? The First Lady and Oprah’s fireside chat, which had the room in stitches and tears. #squadgoals.
Attending the conference also reinforced my deep conviction in what we’re building with Bridge2Act and NO.GIFTS. There’s no shortcut to blood, sweat, and tears when you’re building something from the ground up. I’d been feeling burnt out and overwhelmed in the past month or two, and hearing about a woman researching to cure her own disease and witnessing Michelle Obama challenge all men to “be better” was apparently all I needed to reignite my fire.

Another reason for my mini hiatus – conferences. In addition to the USOW, I was also at the United Nations for the Media for Social Impact Summit and in Houston for the inaugural Circular Summit. I go a little extreme for conferences – Google-stalk the speakers, practice my pitch, and set aside hours for thoughtful follow-up after.
It’s basically another full-time job.
I’ve also been ramping up on public speaking. I’ve got some exciting panels and keynotes lined up this summer, starting with a social influencers panel at General Assembly next week. If you’re local to New York, I’d love to see you there!
Bonus – it’s free. So you really have no excuse.

I know what you’re thinking. Another blogger-how-can-I-serve-you survey?
Yes. Another one of those.
I’m about to embark on brand and website refresh, as the content and message of this space has evolved a lot in the past 18 months. I’m no longer traveling as much as I used to. I’m a mom. I run my own company (which sounds a lot more glamorous than it sounds).
Life is different. And I want the next iteration of HOTG to reflect that.
So tell  me – what do you want to read? How do you want to consume this content? What do you want to read, and what do you not want to read?
You can fill out the survey, leave me a comment below, or shoot me an e-mail.
Updated – I’ve been seeing requests for motherhood and decor posts. I’m happy to oblige on the home decor (especially sharing my own home), but need to figure out a motherhood angle that works for me and my family. But if you have any ideas, please tell me them!
Every comment, idea, and piece of (constructive) criticism matters.
Thank YOU. For reading, commenting, and sticking with me when I go dark.
Here’s to a wonderful summer and an even better rest of 2016.
And hopefully a less insane one.
