– Vintage blouse, Mango skirt, Ivanka Trump sandals,
Ann Taylor purse, jewelry from India –
“This skirt will be the end of me,” I thought, the pile of discarded blouses growing on the floor. Â No white/cream or blue tops matched the shades of the skirt, and red ones were just too…obvious.
Clad in my bra and the skirt, feet encased in my surprisingly comfortable Ivanka Trump sandals, I began searching for a suitable blouse in the “work” section of my closet. Â Fingers running over the tops of hangers, I stop at one.
“What do you think about this?” I ask Lydia. Â The marigold vintage blouse was one piece of my 60’s vintage shopping spree on Etsy from a few months back, and it was as difficult to style as the skirt I was wearing. Â “Maybe tied at the waist,” she helpfully suggested, as I began to feverishly button up the blouse. Â Looking into the floor mirror in my hallway, I deftly tied and tucked the knot and stood, judging my reflection.
It worked. Â Who knew that sometimes two of the most unlikely items in your closet would come together to produce the right outfit?
Grabbing the structred Ann Taylor satchel from my bed and  a sparkly bracelet from India, both in bright fire-engine red hues, I was out the door.
