When we moved into our new apartment, there were a lot of things my husband and I no longer had to share.
The bathroom.  Closets.  (If you want to know the secret to a happy marriage, it’s that).
Our home office is pseudo-shared. Â I lay claim on it Monday-Thursday, and will usually work from NeueHouse on Fridays so my husband can have it to himself. We’ll have to figure out a new place to work come January, when this room becomes the nursery for our kid. Â Empire State Building views, tons of natural light…
This child is already spoiled.
In the meantime, we’re going to enjoy this space while we still can and document it here for posterity. Â The talented Cheyenne shot these photographs for my Career Contessa feature, and I’ve been saving them for a day when the reality of what’s to come hit me particularly hard. Â Like now.
Holy crap, I’m going to be a mother.
IN MARCH. Â For now, I have a tiny bump and my home office. Â And I’m going to enjoy every last minute of it.

A word to the wise – the desk chairs shown, while stylish, started to give me lower back pain. Â I switched over to this leaning chair and have had ZERO issues. Â Wherever our new home office goes, that leaning chair is coming with me.
