Nasty Gal jacket – Madewell top – Old Navy jeans
Gucci loafers (plain red, floral versions) – Dagne Dover bag
I’m craving ease.
Simple. Unfussy. Basic, if you will.
I’m looking for it in all aspects of my life -Â how I work, what I eat. And most importantly, what I’m wearing.
And there’s no easier outfit than a blouse/skinny jean combination. Especially when both pieces are made from comfortable, soft denim.
Also, when your pants double as Spanx. Comfortable Spanx, that is.
I’ll happily spend a little extra on classics like blouses and flats.
Especially fancy flats. It’s probably been a year since I last purchased a pair of heels. But statement flats (like these Gucci loafers) are my favorite way to zhush up a simple look.
Pricey? Very. Worth every penny? Definitely.
Especially when they match your favorite grab-and-go small purse.
Sticking to the same color (in varying shades) is another style trick I use to upgrade a simple outfit.
And blue is my new black – especially a rich navy and a pale chambray. My love for an all-navy look is no secret (see here and here), and I can’t stop. Won’t stop.
