– J.Crew blouse, Mango jeans, UO blazer (similar), Rebecca Minkoff bag,
Coach watch, BaubleBar bracelet, Boutique 9 booties –
I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect plaid shirt for DECADES – back from my elementary school days, when I wanted to emulate Kurt Cobain’s style and musical genius.
I was a weird kid.
The hunt finally ended last December, thanks to the Flatiron neighborhood’s J.Crew (and their 30% off everything sale). Â I snapped this blouse up in a frenzy, having made a run for the shirt the second I entered the store. Â I’ve worn it all winter, pairing the Cobain staple with polished East Coast pieces. Â As much as I love Seattle, my constant blazer wearing during college definitely got some looks from the North Face-wearing locals.

Talk to me – what was a clothing item you were OBSESSED with as a child? Â My second most memorable style statement as a kid was piling on my mother’s gold necklaces in an effort to look like my childhood hero Mr. T. Â I pity the fool. Â I also pity my parents for having to put up with my overactive imagination.
