Vest / Blazer / Cape
iPad bag / Clutch / Structured Bag
Heels / Loafers / BootiesÂ
While my previous fall style essentials post was more budget friendly, the pricer pieces in this collection are worthwhile investment pieces that will last you for years.
Blazers should be a staple in every girl’s wardrobe – I own and love this particular one from Ralph Lauren rugby. Â Faux fur vests and capes have been staples for the past few F/W seasons, and appear to be here to stay. Â Pick neutral pieces with interesting textures to pair with your sweater-and-slack combinations.
Structured bags are staples this year – these classic pieces are worth investing in, as you’ll be able to wear them for decades to come. Â I’m obsessed with the DVF Harper Connect bag (ahem, hubby) and its iPad pocket. Â Make sure you have structured bags in a neutral and a bold color – this orange Rebecca Minkoff MAC is festive for fall, and the bag is quite roomy.
My feet are ever grateful that flat, bold brogues and loafers are in this season – a leopard pair is not for the meek, but pairs well with skinny trousers and a turtleneck sweater (a la Audrey Hepburn). Â Brian Atwood Maniacs are pricey, but well-worth the investment – they’re the most comfortable heels you’ll ever wear. Â So are these Jeffrey Campbell Lita booties (and they’re far more budget-friendly).
