What is the best bag you’ve ever owned?
For me, it was a leather Coach tote (snagged from an outlet shop, no less) that I received in college. Black leather, a top zip, pockets galore. I loved that bag so much that I had replacement straps made in India so I could continue lugging my life in ol’ faithful.
My favorite feature of the bag was a padded compartment that had a sleeve. I assumed it was for a laptop.
My mother, however, disclosed the truth. “It’s a diaper changing pad! Your tote is a baby bag. Didn’t you know?”
No, mother dearest. I did not. But what. a. bag. (I passed it on to my cousin, who’s more like a little sister. Who passed it on to her cousin. Ol’ Faithful is still making the rounds).
10 years later, there are thankfully plenty of stylish travel and work bag options (thank you, Lo & Sons and Dagne Dover). But a chic diaper bag still ranks highly as the best bag for travel. They’re lightweight, can usually be carried in a variety of options, and the interiors are constructed of easy-to-clean materials.
Because, you know. Babies. Mess.
Here’s the thing with most diaper bags. They scream ‘BABY!’
Is it too much to ask for a gorgeous, functional bag that will age beautifully and that my husband won’t be embarrassed to lug around as well?
Enter Lily Jade. They have done the seemingly impossible by designing diaper bags that look like anything but. The leather quality is superb (feels like butter). The designs are amazingly functional (the Madeline can be worn as a tote, backpack, or messenger bag).
And the interior. Well, I’ll just let the next picture speak for itself.
Pockets galore. Fits everything you could need for a long flight or a marathon day running around the city.
Or, you know, essentials for you and a baby.
And because I’m a women who likes options, I love that the interior organizer snaps out and can be put in any one of my other large bags. Or be tossed in the wash.
Pssst – you can also buy JUST the organizer, in case you want to get your organization on in one of your existing bags.
Smitten? Sold on these bags? It’s your lucky day.
Lily Jade and I are teaming up to give one reader a bag of her choice! Enter using the widget below, and good luck!
