I’ve been feeling pretty weak and fatigued over the past two months. Â At first, I thought it was my lack of sleep due to juggling work, graduate school, and wedding planning.
So I got more sleep. Â It didn’t help.
Then I thought it may be caused by my heavy caffeine dependence.
I cut it down to no more than two cups of coffee during the day, drank lots more water, and exercised more. Â Nothing.
It must be nutrition, I believed. Â Maybe my weekly Taco Bell meals aren’t the best for me.
Started taking vitamins, and eating more salads. Â A little better, but still no dice.
I gave up and finally went to the doctor. Â One blood test and three days later, I found out it was anemia. Â I needed more iron. Â The vitamins, he said, were certainly helping, but I needed an additional iron supplement. Â He also recommended an energy boosting multivitamin to help me keep up with my schedule.
Moral of the story: take your vitamins, people. Â It’s the easiest thing you can do for your overall health. Â Consider additional supplements if you’re feeling off.
And talk to your doctor before you go on a self-diagnosis tangent. Â Or take anything new/different.
