Life Changes

life change

To say 2014 has been eventful would be a gross understatement.

There was our surprise trip to Australia, thanks to my husband’s job. A move to a bigger apartment was torturous at the time, but wonderful in the end. Finding out we’re expecting took the cake, as far as major life changes go.

Coming in at a close second was my decision to leave my full-time job, and the pharmaceutical world as a whole.

I spent over 5 years working at SciDose, and many more learning about the industry, studying the science and business of drug development, and pestering my father with question after question about why the FDA approved this drug and not that one.

Sometime this year, I lost my passion for the business. And when I found out I was pregnant, I made the decision to leave entirely. The pharmaceutical world is not a motherhood-friendly place. While my company and boss would be nothing but supportive, I knew I wouldn’t be giving the job my everything.

And if I’m going to leave my kid to work, I had better LOVE what I do.

So, what’s next?

Are you becoming a full-time blogger?
No. All the power to the women and men who can make their blogs their full-time career, but that was and never will be the intention of Hitha On The Go. That said, you will see more sponsored content and giveaways, but only from companies I truly love and am a loyal customer to. Blog income will be supplementing the other projects I’m taking on now and in the new year, which I’ll dive into next.

What are you going to be doing for work?
I’ll be doing digital marketing and social media consulting work for companies I truly love, as well as expanding my travel/packing services to companies, publications, and the like. I’m also hard at work on a startup that we’re planning to launch next year!

What’s the startup about?
It has nothing to do with pharmaceuticals, fashion, travel, or blogging. But it requires me to use all the skills I’ve learned in each one of these fields. It will transform the way Generation X and millennials give to charity.

On that note, I could use your help.

If you could take a few minutes to fill out this survey, my team and I would appreciate it immensely.

2014 – you’ve been quite a year. But I need a breather before 2015 begins.
