I’m so sorry for how erratic my posting has been here. Â There’s a LOT going on at the moment, and I’ve been overwhelmed by it all. Â A little life update is in order, don’t you think?
Apartment – we’re signing the lease on our new apartment TODAY, and are moving April 14th. Â It’s a lot sooner than planned (our lease technically ends the end of May), but an entirely welcome change. Â I have yet to start the traditional pre-move purge, which is causing me a little distress. Â My moving skills are a bit rusty, so I may be calling in the big guns – i.e. Mama Palepu. Â PS – for those following me on Pinterest, I apologize for the non-stop pinning of rugs and furniture. Â It WILL end soon, I promise.
Work -Â it’s busy. Â I can’t really talk about it. Â And given that it pays the bills, it’s my first priority.
Blog – I’ve been working on a number of great opportunities. Â It started with the Quarterly boxes (first one ships in May!), and was followed up with a big opportunity with Ladies’ Home Journal. Â Last Friday, a video crew and I holed up on set to film an entire packing video series. Â It was an exhausting AND fulfilling day, and I can’t wait to share the final videos with you. Â I’m also working on relaunching the En Route With series and trying to blog regularly (and failing). Â In short – lots of cool things coming here soon.
Personal Time -Â My husband and I have a new rule – no phones (at all) during date night. Â We ventured to our favorite neighborhood pizza place, sans iPhones, and truly connected for the first time in a long time. Â We are firmly reinstating our every-other-week date night rule. Â I’m also desperately in need for more solo time – fewer evenings out, more nights in curled up with a mug of tea, a great book, and in sweatpants. Â Because it’s nearly April and it’s still freezing.
Travel – oh, it’s coming.  While they’re mostly local weekend trips, it means less time at home (where I should be, weeding out old things and starting to pack items coming with us).  I’m especially excited for June – we’re headed on our big vacation of 2014.  We’ll be sailing through Scandinavia for 7 days, and spending my big 30th birthday in one of my favorite cities, Saint Petersburg.  When I start to feel overwhelmed by, well, everything, I just think of this trip and it helps bring me back down to Earth.  Note to self – apply for our Russian visas.
I do have some fun content coming your way – a giveaway tomorrow, travel tips resuming this Thursday, and my very tardy recaps of Sydney.  If you’d like a snapshot in my day-to-day life, follow me on Instagram.
