Fresh corn is one of my favorite culinary treats of summer. Â Its sweet crunchiness more than makes up for the fact that I desperately need to floss after enjoying it.
While roaming around Hyderabad, I can’t help but be drawn to the smoky, sweet smell of grilled corn, rubbed in chili powder and lemon juice.  While I haven’t succumbed to the street vendors (can”t afford to get sick on such a short trip), I do plan on running to the nearby farm when I arrive home to make this tasty summer treat, desi-style.
Indian Grilled Corn
Ingredients:
Ears of corn
Salt
Lemons (1 lemon for two ears of corn)
Indian chili powder (cayenne is fine)
Cumin (my *secret* ingredient)
Directions:
Remove the husks from the corn. Â Place on a hot grill. Â Cook corn until slightly blackened, turning the ears as each side is done.
Cut the lemons in half.  Squeeze the juice into a bowl, and place the lemon  (cut side down) onto the grill.  Remove lemons once they’re slightly blackened.
Add salt, chili powder, and cumin (a pinch of each for 1 ear) into the lemon juice and mix.
Dip the lemon half (cut side down) into the bowl, then rub the lemon all over the corn.
