Every week kind of feels the same.
It’s a blur of work, events, school drop-offs and evening cuddles, and more work.
And yet, every week is also different.
On Monday, my best friend was one of three women honored as a ‘Women To Watch’ by WICT. To say I’m proud is a severe understatement – I actually teared up when she accepted her award and gave her speech.
Thank goodness I had my full makeup bag with me. Touch ups were necessary.
I got to spend time with one of my favorite aunts yesterday, and she saw Rho for the first time since he was a baby. My heart is still happy from the visit.
I don’t make it to The Wing’s evening events often, but I did attend a panel on Wednesday night that featured modern-day trailblazers and rule breakers (in honor of Gabrielle Chanel). The highlight of the panel was Katy Tur, whose book I read the same day I read Hillary’s (book review forthcoming).
A good week – albeit one that went by way too fast.
On to the reads!
- Busy Phillips is an American treasure. I’ve been obsessed with her since Dawson’s Creek and White Chicks (one of my all-time favorite movies). Thanks to Instagram Stories, I can get my Busy fix every day.
- Fashion Magpie is a new addition to my blog reader, but’s quickly become a favorite. She had me at her hilariously punny post titles and outstanding beauty recommendations.
- Dagne Dover just launched their fall/winter collection – and it’s gorgeous. I have my eye on this tote (debating between the black and the slate) and the clutch/wallet in agate. Shop the whole collection here.
- This article on Instagram motherhood was far more thoughtful than the pretty images and title suggested. Have you read it? Thoughts?
- We’re going through a particularly tough phase (molar teething + trying to discipline a two-year old), so I’ve been gravitating towards a lot of parenting articles. This post on colic brought back all the feelings and memories. I don’t think I could have written about it so beautifully, so I credit Stephanie for doing so.
- Obligatory Shopbop sale reminder. The best thing to buy, if you haven’t yet, is my book. I like to restock on old favorites (a fresh pair of my favorite black jeans, some cozy cashmere, the greatest bra ever, and a new graphic top). In the past, I’ve gotten some of my all-time favorite products from this sale – my liquids bag and blanket for travel, faux leather leggings, and even my Tumi carry-on.
