Hello hello! Â I apologize for my hiatus earlier this week, but a absurdly long travel day on Monday left me bedridden with exhaustion yesterday. Â Would you believe I didn’t open my computer until this morning? Â Believe it.
My sloth-like behavior ends here, unfortunately. Â BIG week – I’m hosting my first event with MM LaFleur on Saturday, and partnering up with some of my favorite brands as well! Â I’m pumped.
I’m also looking forward to treating Usha to a bachelorette dinner with our friend Sonia at The Chester (one of my favorite new restaurants in the city), a Halloween drinks date /reunion with some of my favorite gals, and meeting the co-founders of the incredible startup Zady.
What I’m not looking forward to – the copious amounts of green juice and salads I’ll be eating to offset my Italian diet of cheese, bread, and wine. Â *insert pig emoticon here*
Other things making my week:
- I did a fun interview with Rank & Style, one of my favorite shopping tools. Â We talked about my favorite destinations to travel to, my favorite superhero, and my must-do beauty ritual. Â Check it out here.
- I’m perpetually confused about the use of Mrs. and Ms., so who better to explain than my lovely friend (and etiquette expert) Annie Dean.
- Jhumpa Lahiri is one of my favorite novelists, and I found this article on her relocation to Rome (one of my favorite cities!) and her writing process to be fascinating.
- Regarding this list of 8 Things Every Happy Woman Should Have, I’d like to add one more item – a pick-up line.  Not that kind of line, but one reliable phrase to fall back on when networking at a business function, when you arrive to a party solo and don’t know anyone, or you’re seated next to a good looking person in an airplane.  Mine is “I love your (shoes/bag/shirt/whatever)” – people love getting compliments and it’s a nice way to break the ice.  (Sidebar – do you want to see my answers for this?  COMMENT below and let me know!)
- Felicia‘s blog is one of my all-time favorites, and this post combining a deeply personal revelation with Pop Tarts was perfect.
- While we’re on the blog front, I’m enamored by Jamie Shupak’s TV Dinner - the blog and web show.  This episode with Sarma (of Pure Food & Wine / One Lucky Duck) was one of my favorites.
What’s new with you this week? Â Any exciting achievements or plans? Â COMMENT below and let me know!
