I’m SO happy that it’s December.
I love this month. We have the holidays (which I can go a tad overboard with), our wedding anniversary, the final stretch of football season. The cold weather is still a novelty (first snow! breaking out the winter gear!), and the decorations and energy of the city are just amazing.
Also, CHRISTMAS MUSIC AND MOVIES. I have a strict rule to not partake in any holiday revelry until after Thanksgiving, so I’m happily binging on the Pandora 90’s Christmas radio, Home Alone (1 AND 2), Love Actually, and fudge. Lots of fudge.
It’s a good week. My husband and I toured the hospital where I’ll be delivering (eek!), I got to catch up with Megan and Bethany over manicures at Paintbox (um, amazing). I’m hitting up Olivia’s event tomorrow night and one of my best friends is visiting this weekend with her husband and toddler daughter.
And it ends with the Eagles-Seahawks showdown. WORLDS COLLIDE.
Excuse me while I have a dance party by myself to NSYNC’s ‘Merry Christmas Happy Holidays.’ And enjoy these links.
- In honor of the Episode VII trailer (um, amazing), I bring you an excellent essay on Princess Leia’s absence in the Star Wars merchandise universe. Hint hint, Disney.
- Overindulge on Thanksgiving? This smoothie is both a satisfying breakfast AND will help you debloat.
- Then do this killer at-home, no equipment workout that will remove any traces of holiday pudge.
- If you’re me, you’ll have the smoothie, skip the workout, and feast on one of the greatest dishes you will ever eat. If you live in NYC, skip the hassle of making it and get yourself to Sigiri in the East Village.
- Every word Rachel writes about living in Seattle is so. damn. true. (And really funny).
- The horror that is air travel today.
