Wake up. Read in bed while munching on toast. Read more. Work on a never-ending jigsaw puzzle.
That’s what this week has been like. And it’s been blissful.
It’s not to say that we’ve been complete hermits. To compensate for lazy days, our evenings are filled with dinners with friends and family staying local over the holidays. We grabbed dinner with Eram and her husband on Monday, dined with my husband’s family last night, and are headed to Victoria’s for her traditional Christmas Eve dinner of chili and tamales (um, yum). We’re spending Christmas in new pajamas and watching movies. Friday? Zero plans.
Non-work weeks – I dig you.
- Think champagne belongs in a flute or coupe? Think again.
- What I’m whipping up this week – hearty vegetarian chili, these warming (and virgin!) drinks, and gingerbread bites my health-conscious husband will indulge in. Also, sugar cookies.
- We faced a lot of these same dilemmas when we looked for baby names.
- When a woman really tries to lose a guy in 10 days.
- This gift guide from Grace embodies the true spirit of the holidays. I’m honored to call this woman a friend.
- Fact – generic over-the-counter drugs are identical to their brand counterparts. Save your cash and buy store-brand painkillers instead of Advil or Tylenol. Just check to make sure it’s manufactured in the United States, Canada, or Europe!
Merry Christmas Eve! Wishing you and your family a relaxing holiday :)
