I feel like I apologize a lot these days.
Apologize to my husband for snapping at him. Apologize to my team for slower-than-usual responses. Apologize to you for unintended blog silences.
The short of it is, I took on too much. And for that, I’m truly sorry. To everyone.
I needed last week to catch up on sleep, prioritize, and hang with Rho. Because…baby cuddles. Best cure. Ever.
In any case, I’m back. Not better than ever, but definitely more rested and organized. My cousin and her family are visiting from Vancouver this week. Her daughters (my ‘nieces’) are such incredible young women – smart, funny, and just a joy to hang out with. They watched Rho on Monday while I took their mom to Cyc, and today I’m treating them to a cooking class and shopping. We’re keeping it low-key this weekend – lunch with Julia and Something Rotten on Saturday, and a Taylor Swift-themed ride on Sunday.
Other than that? Lots of walks, resuming the queue of books in my Kindle, and sleep. Sweet, glorious sleep.
On to the links! They have a ‘who run the world? girls!’ theme to them. But after Serena’s epic win (and dance party!) this weekend, I couldn’t help myself…
- Mothers, take note – stellar tips on how to fly with an infant and road trip with little kids.
- I LOVED this feature on Iranian women and makeup. A fascinating look into beauty in a culture we know little about.
- Victoria‘s incredible cooking is just one of the many things I miss about having her in NYC. Thankfully, she shares recipes like this perfect summer dish.
- Beauty advice galore – Cindy Crawford’s go-to tips and the best ways to treat your delicate under-eye skin.
- How a badass nonprofit founder and new mother spends her Sundays.
- Eva Chen on leaving Lucky and her amazing personal style.
Hope you’re having a great week!
