“The days are long, but the years are short.”
Someone wise (and I can’t remember who) said that about motherhood, and it’s 100% true. Some days can feel never-ending when you’re alone with your baby. Then you blink your eyes and witness them eating, scooting all over the living room, and responding to certain words (like “Eagles!”) with a squeal and smile.
Time, please slow down. I’d like more time to enjoy this almost-mobile phase. Also, more time to work on my book.
On the whole, this week was a typical one. I met with my editor, grabbed lunch with Viv, and spent several quiet nights at home reading this book. I also got back in the workout wagon with boxing, hip-hop yoga, and several spin classes. It hopefully makes up for my larger-than-usual wine intake the past couple of weeks (whoops). We have a really chill weekend on deck – long walks with the little guy, a BBQ with friends, and catching up on sleep.
On to the links!
- I was absorbed on this story of the king of Greece – and why he lives in the country as a commoner.
- A
daynight in the life of a first year medical resident on night float. - Parenting goals, delivered.
- An amazing roundup of natural (and effective!) products for your face, body, and home.
- The one thing to do to jumpstart productivity (h/t to Belle for sharing originally).
- A self-admitted Trekkie, I loved this piece on how the series was the breeding ground for the coolest old hipsters.
What do you have going on this week? Any fun plans? COMMENT below and let me know!
