I’ve been having a string of THOSE days recently.
First, at our partner meeting a couple of days ago, the director of the company thought I was the secretary, simply because I was taking notes and asking relatively few questions. I’m the VP of Operations, and responsible for program management. Recording meeting minutes is part of my job. I don’t do coffee and answering phones, you jerk.
I’m sorely tempted to change his name to “Huge Douche” in the meeting minutes. I’ll refrain.
Second, because of the Telanganna protests going on in Hyderabad, we had to cancel a meeting yesterday, shut down business today (though we simply moved our meeting to a conference room at a hotel–side note, a pen exploded on my cream blouse this morning, still got ink on my hands, not happy). The people are protesting for the creation of a Telanganna state. It’s about as productive as the city of Boulder’s efforts to secede from the Union. As in, never going to happen. I’m all for the freedom of expression and protesting for causes you believe in, but do it in a way that doesn’t affect other people’s lives. Emulate Gandhi-ji instead of burning buses and causing even MORE traffic. Shame on you for essentially shutting down one of India’s business capitals. And inconveniencing millions of peoples’ lives. Great work, Telanganna.
These two issues have gotten to me in such a way that the little things (driving on unpaved roads, traffic jams, bugs, even the loudness of my family) set me off. I’m currently in seclusion in my room until I can muster a better mood, as there’s simply no excuse to take out my own dissatisfications on my family.
I’m pretty sure the first two episodes of Jersey Shore will get me in a better mood. Now if only my slow-ass Internet would download them faster.
What do you do to get you out of your funks? Yoga? Chocolate? Reality TV? Punching something? I need all suggestions.
