Wedding Tip #4: Getting the Groom to Help

Getting the man to help with any facet of wedding planning is…well, impossible.  Try as you may, you can’t get them to give a response other than “that’s great, baby” to anything.

It can drive a future bride kind of crazy.

There is one very crucial item that, however, can be left for the future husband to do.  Inspired by watching Jason arrange for him and his future bride to get their marriage license on Bethenny Getting Married?, I quickly charged my own betrothed to do the same.

And he did it, brilliantly.

Before we headed on our first road trip, we went to the local courthouse and sat with the registrar as she prepared our marriage license.  S made sure we had all the right identification, had worked out the officiant details with my mother, and stayed cool and calm as I girl-ed out and kept saying “oh my goodness, we’re really getting marred!” during the entire time.

Win for the future groom.  Having had him execute such an important task flawlessly, I let him off the hook with all the other planning (as long as his elephant is there for his entrance and the food is excellent, he’s happy).

Brides, the only other thing your man will be helpful with is registering.  The scanning gun helps.
